Not 1, Not 2, Nor 3, not even 4… 5 wedding colors!

While channeling the Count from Sesame Street, Jenn and I have picked the following color palatte for the wedding.  We have picked 5 wedding colors.  It began as a simple 3, Brown, Blue and Fuschia.  However it expanded when Jenn went to Home Depot to get color cards.  She came home with more than 40 colors and from those 40 I chose the original 3 I had envisioned.  She asked to add 2 more, a purple and orange to compliment the colors.  Being a good fiance, I accepted the new additions but fought to keep my blue as a bright blue not a dark blue.  My thought is to have colored lights pointed at the walls of the reception area to add some color to the photographs.  The decision has been cast in stone, these are our colors.  Any bride’s maid dress will contain some of these colors, any groom’s men shirt and tie will also contain some of these colors.

P.S. I am excited I got to keep my blue.

  1. Love the colors! Can’t wait to see it all together!!! 🙂

  2. And why is there no yellow? =/ You get your blue my dear, why do I not get my yellow? hehe – just kidding.

  3. I’m curious what colors you’ll be putting people in. I think I vote purple, but fuschia could make quite a splash (in a good way) too, but I think that’s riskier. That’s the color scary bridesmaids dresses come in. 🙂 Oh, blue would work and the guys would probably be happier wearing blue tie than wearing pink, too. And brown would be interesting. So I guess I’m voting not orange. LOL

  4. Btw, if you put color blocks like that, I’m going to think emergency broadcast system. I looked it up though and those aren’t the EBS colors. (Well, except the fuschia and blue, but they stick red in between.) As long as you aren’t painting stripes on the walls though, I think you’re good. 🙂

  5. I vote for the men to have purple shirts with blue/fuschia ties. I think i would look damn sharp and edgy. I feel that there should be a lot of color on the men. I know fuschia is not a color most men like, but I proposed in a pinkish purple and like tie. I loved it. I think it looked bright and powerful.

  6. I dig it – the guys being colorful. Definitely colored shirts. Brown suits? The girls can wear a color too… there is only a couple of them so we’ll see what they think. My initial thought was brown with each having one color to accent… there’s no way all colors can be represented – but there is always flowers too!

  7. I think you should have yellow, Jenn.

Hopefully that wasn’t sarcastic because yellow is one of my colors for my wedding! HA!

  8. By the way, how did you guys get your pictures to show up with your comments? I tried to figure out how to upload one for me and am much too stupid, I guess. 🙂

  9. Ah, yes, we should all have pictures. It is some avatar thing. I’ll ask Jeff for the how to again and we can do it when we have another “no job lunch date”

  10. Heck no, Yellow is my favorite color!
